My First Bak Kut Teh Post

When I blogger about my Jigsaw puzzle experience, I mentioned about having Bak Kut Teh for lunch with KY, Terence, Horng, the Bf and Kerol. That was the day after they all had a blast at the malam tumpang glamour party. FML, I didn't get to go because I had a wedding to attend to and was too tired after that to party! Life is so unfair!

So anyways, just savour every photo that I add on because the food there is really awesome and it only cost us RM15 per person and loads of food. This is also the first restaurant that I actually tried dried bak kut teh before. The other thing I like about this shop is the fact that they allow you to refill your soup without complaining although they only refill like half or 70 percent of the claypot. Nevermind, not enough soup just keep demanding for more!

Apparently the owner of the shop is really old, like 16 years old or just slightly older and he was like 14 years old when he opened this shop and invented the dried bak kut teh. Bloody smart kid! I wish I could think of something like that too and get people to run my business for me.

Anyways, piccies time.

All still stoned after MTG, especially hungover God whom peed on peoples window - alcohol is bad babes! LOL

The main focus of the restaurant, the dried Bak Kut Teh
It's different part of the pork that has been boiled with the bak kut teh soup all mixed together with kicap and black sauce and small bits of sotong and stirred into a claypot

I like the kam cham ku because it's really thick, not like the typical BKT place that gives you those really thin stringy ones that you can barely even chew properly before it runs down your throat

The bak kut teh soup with the pork thigh
Very rare that they actually serve the thigh at BKT places unless you minta from them la. They were really nice to like cut the thigh into pieces so easier for you to ambil, instead of digging and struggling to pull the meat from the thigh and splashing yourself or other people along the way.
Moi is the queen of that :P

Nom nom nom nommmmms

I ish like the vegetable because I wrap it with the otak-otak (the last picture) to makan together because it goes so well and also because the otak-otak is nice but too spicy, so the vege and the oyster sauce counters the spiciness a bits :)

The taufu is nothing special because as you can see it came from the prepacked taufu boxes which is sold at supermarkets and all you do is add oyster sauce, spring onions and fried bawang.

The otak-otak :)

If you have yet to try out the dry bak kut teh - the kwan lo style, I strongly recommend you to head over to the restaurant but over the weekends of cos because that area is highly prone to jam during working days.

Restaurant Name: Yap Chuan
Location: Batu Empat Belas, Puchong (next to Hero Supermarket)
Address: 53, Jalan BPU 2, Bandar Puchong Utama
