Okay TBH, when me and Ringo heard the name Toast and Roast and it's non-halal, I guess we kinda thought that it was going to be this restaurant that sells toast with really awesome pork sausage and pork bacon that melts in your mouth, yida yada, extra extra and you know what I'm getting to.

So when we arrived to the restaurant and had a look at the menu, my face totally dropped with no cover line from :) to :(. It's just because I thought I was going to have like English Breakfast set or something ma! So this menu is so totally opposite of what I had my mouth watering for!

The menu at Toast and Roast, the price is actually REALLY affordable. Our lunch was less then RM 20 for the both of us, with me ordering Milo Ice and Ringo ordering Iced Herbal Tea

I had Turbo Rice without the Rice (a combination of Char Siew, Siew Yoke and Chicken) whilst Ringo had a Hakka Noodles with Char Siew (priced at RM 7.00 and RM 5.50 respectively) all 3 combinations tasted good but a bit too much to finish - I over ordered for sure because I thought I wanted to try all 3 of them at the same time. Where is the bf and #porkgang when you need them.

Anyways, all 3 of them were too oily and when you have too much, will feel very jelak - like you wanna puke it all out. Really, lesser on the oil would do them much better. Don't know why everyone says that the char siew is damn awesomesauce that it melts in your mouth, more like dripping oil in your mouth :(

See boolicious' post here

Her Hakka Noodles only had 8 pieces of Char Siew there and it was not just a tad too oily, it's just too oily full stop. But luckily the Char Siew is nais, although a bit too fatty. Sanbanto's char siew is still the best char siew ever.

The good part is the owner actually asked us how the food was and we told her and she was really appreciative of the feedback, hence happy smiles to end the story of Toast and Roast.
