The bf decided to be super sweet and considerate and brought me to Lobsterman 2 days before the celebration of Chinese New Year. Really wanted to try out the place for a very long time cos E and S mentioned that the food is actually super awesomesauce, but the bf kept saying that it was super expensive so it was never on top of our priority list to head over. But Ringo on the other hand told me that it wasn't expensive at all, same goes for Horny (he said their set is actually damn dai) so I kept telling the bf I wanna go try it out. Although Lobsters aren't my favorite seafood, but after having a go at Lobsterman, my priority list has changes.

The thing about other places that sell Lobsters they just love to cook it soaked with butter or cheese and the taste is just so overwhelming that it makes you feel damn gross out after eating lobster. It also does not compliment the lobster taste at all. Lobster's are actually best eaten charbroiled or steamed because this method actually maintains the sweetness and juiciness of the lobster.

Lobsterman may not have the most impressive decoration for the place nor is the ambiance great (the tables are too close to one another and not that sound proof so all the sounds of people chattering can be heard all over the restaurant. But I forgive them because their food is just awesomesauce. However don't ever try the Lobster Bisque, it's actually quite bitter. The mushroom soup on the other hand is really nice, creamy but not too much and not too thick. I didn't finish it though, was saving my tummy for the main course! LOBSTER HO HO HO!

I like the idea that there is a menu that shows all the diners the proper 7 ways to eat a lobster. Quite interesting but a bit too complicated to actually follow so we kinda stopped halfway. Didn't actually fulfilled all 7 steps :P can also say we were too greedy and preoccupied with the lobster to actually bother. Note of advice, there is this skinny lil pick that is really good to use for getting to hard to reach places of the lobster claws. This pick also makes it easier to scrape the meat of the shell, so you don't have to use your fingers.

Btw we ordered the RM 128 set that came with an appetizer, soup, main course, rice or pasta, dessert and coffee. Too much for 2 person to finish, seriously. Even the greedy and super huge appetite bf was stuffed! Lobsterman actually allows you to top up RM25 to change the 500grams of lobster to 800 grams. Damn dai lor! If you refer to the picture below, the price of 800 grams of lobster on its own is already RM118. So I would advice to order the set with your partner to get your value for money.

There's actually Lobster Yee Mee! I so wanna try that the next time we head over

Have a look at the set menu options

Newly manicured nails

Oh yes, Lobsterman actually allows its patrons to scribble and draw on the table. Okay, not literally on the table but there is a piece of paper that acts as a paper cloth that you can draw on. Yes, crayons are provided as well, so the bf go busy on his art work.

My BB screensave *hearts*

This is an ugly drawing of Ally

Our first dish, the escargots that came with mashed potato and mushroom, superbly juicy

He continued scribbling and this is the end product

I actually felt that he was a bit biased because Fatty's picture is actually damn cute lor!

Then came the mushroom soup, a bowl for each of us

Family portrait and YES he does suck at drawing humans

FML, the Lobster came not long after the picture above and see how huge it is! That is 800 grams worth of seafood. Look at how HUGE the claws are, imagine if the lobster kiaps your finger - confirm bengkak max :P

Hello meet mister Lobster close-up! See the green shit there? It's actually the 'ko' if you don't like remember to ta pao and pass to me k? I know it looks gross but it is actually fucking awesomesauce!

He was doing the fake "I help you lift up to take picture and then nom it right after I snapped" tactic AGAIN

*drools* I feel like heading to Lobsterman NAO!!!!!

This is only a part of the claw, see so fresh and juicy lor the Lobster

Then came the Spaghetti with cream sauce. Both me and the bf agreed that this dish kinda suck. Really tasteless and wayyyyyyy too creamy. I also feel that the spaghetti didn't actually absorb any cream taste, which means they probably pre-made the sauce and warmed the spaghetti and just dumped it on top. So *shakes head* not good. Will ask them next time if can replace this dish with something else.

Treasured lobstermeat marinated in butter! HEHEHE :P

Ahhhhh *satisfied and full* so it was time to drink a cuppa

Okay, the last dish was actually the fruits dessert thingy which was totally unexpected. The both of us were actually rushing up to pay and finish because we were too full and when this arrived, we were both literally smacked with a FOL face. LOLLLL! I think in this case if I go with Ringo, can share with another person, other than Kim :D

Mr Siao's Mandarin Class, Episode 5

The Malaysian Remedy of Mind Your Own Language

Kaka (家 家) Bak Kut Teh

Address:
Along Jalan Metro Prima, Kepong
Across Carrefour Kepong

Hola! My name is Ally and I normally blog from http://www.theschnauzerblog.blogspot.com but today I decided to be a bit cheeky and took over the role from mummy. I'm 4 and a half years old, going onto 5 years old on September 14th (do remember to buy me treats as presents and I will love you long time with my puppy licks).

Mummy and daddy has this frequent fetish to dress me and my sibling; Fatty up and more frequently bias-ed towards me because I'm the smaller of the two and I seem to be able to fit into most of any clothes that they buy. Fatty the lucky of us always seem to get away with it.

I really dread the costumes so much, especially when it rains. Look at the pictures above and below, see how hideous I have to dress up and mummy seems to think that it is so damn cute to see me like this, and often so I get go out to restaurants and get praised by random bystanders in the restaurant. Why hello! Of cos I am cute! I have to suffer in this clown suit whilst you all go gooogooogaga over me!

So not too long ago, when it was raining, mummy and her group of #porkgang friends (apparently me and Fatty belong to this group called #doggang *rolls eyes*) had to satisfy their pork craving for Bak Kut Teh. So Aunty Kim and Uncle ST suggested that they both head over to Kepong for some awesomesauce bak kut teh.

At first daddy was a bit lost cos he didn't know where this Kaka restaurant was. then he realized that he has been there a number of times after he finished 'clubbing' - apparently its this place that has loads of pretty girls and yucky flavored drinks and very loud music. Sounds very much like something Fatty wouldn't like cos she believes we are both the prettiest girls in town and anything other then Evian water, we have to dislike, lol.

Mummy says that this Bak Kut Teh place is actually not too bad, but she her favorite is still Meng Kee Bak Kut Teh, PJ Old Town. But I prefer Kaka because number 1 - I get to sit on the baby chair and number 2 - the taufu is not oily, so mummy will feed me some :) *slurps*

This is my daddy and he tells me that I should not lean my head on the table

*ermmm okies*

Yau Char Kwai, which is too oily for me :(

Cabbage steamed and stir fried with Oyster sauce and Garlic

This is my mummy :)

That's a lot of food for the humans, I vote that they share them with me and Fatty

Some old pork?!?!? Must be a very old pig that they used. Poor pig! I hope I don't become Claypot when I grow old *cross paws*

This is the main dish, called Bak Kut Teh

Well, that all for now! Good nite :)

Signing off,
Ally from theschnauzerblog

Porkgang's Food Expedition to Ho Ho Steamboat

Address:
No. 67, Jalan Segambut,
51200, Kuala Lumpur
+6 012-289 3119 (Peter Lee)

Ho Ho Steamboat has various branches but the one that Ringo recommended to us is located at Segambut. It is the apparent Pulau Ketam famous steamboat - which I never knew was even famous for steamboat. Only thought it was famous for the dog abandoning place. Or wait is that a different island all together?

Kim's mum mentioned that this restaurant was already famous over 10 years ago but not because of the food but because of an urban gossip. Not nice for me to disclose it here so I will :X but anyway, it's located next to a Famous Yong Tau Fu restaurant as well, so it's two famous eateries side-by-side.

Was very disappointed when we arrived at the restaurant and they ran out of the 'ko hai' - the crab with lots of roe so instead we had clams to soak in the soap and make the taste of the soup more flavorful as well as a combination of two kinds of soup, the clear soup and the tom yam soup.

We were all starved from the journey there, as it was a Friday and traffic in KL on Friday's are just madness! So most of us were battling the jam to try to reach on time and start the feast. Luckily we were all quite punctual, mb like just 10 minutes off, all 'cept for Haze, whom came much later.

My favorite bit was actually the pork meat and the quill egg *yums* oh yes and the prawns were actually rather fresh, juicy and quite sizable for a steamboat kinda method. The rest of the food was not too bad, oh and the fish ball is really nice too. Managed to sneak Fatty a few. Ringo emo me cos she didn't get any and I gave mine to Fatty. Sowwee skinnybitch! Give you more next time! LOL!

Maps and photos below :)

From Google Map

This is how the restaurant looks like. Yeah a bit rundown kinda bungalow but it has good food.

The dishes that we ordered. A set for 8 people and extras of quill eggs, pork balls and pork stripes

Make sure to look out for this signboard when you are headed over, it's not very obvious - especially during the night so chances of you missing the restaurant is quite high

The menu! Mahai no crab roeeeee! :(
