The bf got an invitation from Prestige Magazine to attend a Hennessy Art of Mixing event. It was actually an invitation only event for some tasting and mixing of your own VSOP. Well honestly we aren't really a Hennessy fan, except for loving all the events that we get to attend, all fun and joy because they always arrange one of the best events.
Because traffic that night was so fucking bad, we arrived the event place about 30 minutes late but not surprisingly others were also caught in bad traffic as well, so we had to wait for over an hour before we were led to a room for us to do our own mixtures of Hennessy.
The minute the door swooshed open, I felt like I was already drunk. No seriously! The whole room was filled with Hennessy smell and it was rather overwhelming, no need to drink also feel like you have drank a lot already. I swear God would have dropped down to the floor, kissed and thank the Lord for this blessing. Heck, he would probably down all the alcohol and did his own mix in his tummy. Why wait to pack it into a bottle? LOL!
Then we were briefed about how Hennessy was made and what is Eau-de-Vie. Apparently VSOP is formed when it is aged 5-7 years and XO is when it is more than 9 - hope I didn't get my facts wrong. I was too distracted with the smell and wanting to taste the Eau-de-Vie :P and to create the VSOP and XO, there are over a hundred types and tastes of Eau-de-Vie from different years, it's seriously not a simple thing. Surprising enough there are people who sell fake alcohol that tastes as good that you can't tell the difference.
When questioned on fake alcohol and how to distinguish them, Riche Monde's answer was all Hennessy has a special seal, and code that is made to identify their genuine bottles. But he doesn't deny the fact that there could be some who reuse the real bottles and pack it again and sell them as original ones. Sneaky sneaky!
Then later we had fun experimenting mixtures of Hennessy Eau-de-Vie from different years. Eau-de-Vie 83 means that it is aged for 27 years - which means the number actually tells you the year that it was made in. So we got to play with 3 different years of Eau-de-Vie 83 being the oldest, 90 and 96 the youngest. We were first asked to tryout each of the Eau-de-Vie individually and give a feedback on how it tastes like and then we had a silinder for us to mix the 3 of them based on our preference after having tried the Eau-de-Vie. So each and everyone of us left with our own concoction and not available in the market.
I wonder what it would be like to have a job as an alcohol taster. I'd probably get sick of alcohol or just become plain alcoholic and drunk 24/7. LOL

The lethal weapon

My mixtures, tried out 3 different potions and I actually liked 2 of them, each the extreme opposite and I couldn't decide which one I wanted to pack home. SOOO I choose the one that the bf would drink so IF I ever decide to drink the bottle, we can both enjoy it together.

The bf's recipe

And then we had to use the recipe times 10 of it and start pouring them from these bottles.

The bf's own recipe

LOL I actually asked the guy if I could just take home these 3 Eau-de-Vie and not be bother to mix my own recipe. And he just laughed at walked away '>.<'
