Sherwyn's Dinner.

Its been awhile since we had home cooked food and lil bro, Sherwyn kept telling me what a good cook he is, so after many attempts of trying to arrange for the right time to catch up, he invited me and the rest over for dinner at his place. Chef Wyn decided to cook Chicken in 2 different ways, as well as grilling Salmon - so we were determined to try out and see how well he could cook them.

Dishes for 5 people, which could eventually feed like 6 people, roflol

Just like a real chef - with the freshest meat and fish.

The vegetable however ... (",)' *sweats* hehe some of the asparagus were not properly cooked cos the girls used a steamer instead of the usual method of boiling :P so under estimated the timing and etc - hence you can see the broccoli is overcooked.

The salmon is really yummy! As for the chicken, I prefer the one on the left, as compared to the cayenne marinated one on the right. I guess I'm just not someone who fancies spices and the cayenne is actually quite pungent in that sense. But nonetheless, still very yummy and kudos for the great job lil bro. Especially the effort :D *looks at the calendar* maybe it's time for another session of home cooked food :P

The bf brought Fatty along too. And she was punished to sit still on the chair, so that the adults can run about the kitchen without the furry four legged getting in their way.

Sorry for the slow updates; been really busy lately. Will try to update as often as I can.

Restoran Sin Yuen, Taman Desa.

One of the days we headed to Taman Bukit Desa area to have a simple dinner at Sanuki Udon. And unfortunately, on THAT SAME DAY, SANUKI UDON was closed. As it was pretty late and we were pretty hungry already, we just headed up the road to this Chinese tai chow called Restoran Sin Yuen.

Their kitchen area was on the outside of the shop, and our table was by the roadside. Just the right setting and atmosphere for some simple tai chow food on a chilly night...

We ordered the fried rice - of course, with some add-ons as well. Added on some lapcheong (Chinese sausages), ham yue (salted fish) and minus all the vege... ahahaha LOL. It was pretty awesome!!!

Yau mak with fu yu - err I'm not sure how to call it in English. Lets call it vege lah...

We had a resident guest there too... Meet Eric Soong's Alfie... ahahaha coincidentally, Eric and Alfie stays just minutes away from here...

I forgotten what dish was this called.. but its basically some 'ham tan pai kuat'. Perhaps the best dish of the night!

The other day we popped by Jalan Tun H S Lee - after a little posh event in Kg Baru. It was getting late, but somehow I had the cravings for some noodles...

The old school corner shop.

Apparently this uncle had been serving the awesome beef ball noodles for years already. No wonder he so skill...

Check out his kitchen!

Delicious beef bits poured all over the noodles.

Penang Rampage

Penang Bridge

Over a year since the last drinking trip, so we decided for a one night trip down to Penang. 4 of us but we brought 5 bottles. Damn bloody alcoholic. But we only did 3 of the bottles. D was mentioning that we should try the Glenfacas a 60 percent Single Malt Whisky (available at Single and Available, our specialized single malt shop in Plaza Damas). Taste it on its own, actually very 'kang' and the smell itself is a killer as well.

This is how the bottle looks like.

Dinner was at the row of stalls at near Sunway Hotel Georgetown (No. 33, Lorong Baru, 10400 Georgetown). We ordered dishes to share like the Curry Mee, Wan Tan Mee, Chee Cheong Fun, Si Ham and Lala, Char Kuey Teow, Ikan Pari-Pari, juices and a bottle of beer - goes well with the si ham.

Went back to the hotel and played cards and drank the Glenfacas, Black Label and Glemorangie till 4 in the morning and one of them got hungry. So we drove down all the way from Batu Ferringi to head near Slippery Senorita for Nasi Kandar Beratur.

It was about to close when we were there, so not much variety left.

PP's dish of chicken and egg drenched in curry sauce. Tastes really yummy but I was too full from all the alcohol *pengsans*

Otw out of Penang, we headed to Restaurant Jetty at Bukit Tambun for lunch. It's the last restaurant at the end of the whole stretch of restaurants available at Bukit Tambun. The restaurant here is cheap. Looking at the array of dishes we ordered for 5 people, we only paid RM 168 for the lunch, less than RM 35 per person.

You will be on the jetty over looking the river and surrounded by loads of fisherman boats. We could even see huge biawaks climbing up and down the boats around. So funny.

PP thought that it was closed for lunch but we decided to make a trip to check if the restaurant was opened, if not open worst come to worst can eat in either one along the way in.

Shark Meat Curry, first time trying out Shark's meat, not Shark's Fin and it tastes not too bad. Maybe a bit tough but according to PP Shark's Meat tastes best with curry.

Steamed Mantis Prawn, one of the best dishes! First time trying such fresh mantis prawns, it was so juicy and sweet and costs RM 3 per piece. It would have been easier to peel off the meat from the shell if they didn't cut the mantis prawn into half. But it was all good.

Kam Heong Crabs, 2 crabs for RM 40. The crabs are juicy as well, just that the sauce is a bit dry but I liked the idea that the kam heong crabs are cooked with loads of dried prawns like ikan bilis kind.

Baby Kai Lan
Tau Fu steamed on Hot Pan
Steamed Ginger Fish, the meat was a bit tough, I just snuck a bite. But the rest felt it was good. Not really to my liking.

As usual with D around, we over ordered again LOL so we couldn't finish the fish and the crabs but not too bad as it was worth the price.

Then we were on the road again. Made a pit stop at one of the rest places to have fruits and take a pee. After that we continued our journey back home and then we headed to Bidor for Ngap Tui Min. The last time I was there was close to 3 years ago. The noodles still taste as good and the soup is so fulfilling, especially cos it was raining when we were having our noodles.

The herbal souped duck - love the herbs :D

It comes in dried noodles or in herbal soup
