Somnipathy


It’s been madness! Forgive for the infrequent updates on my blog – unless on food reviews or food that I eat. :P Every single day I’m rushing here and there for meetings, I’ve been getting stressed out so easily and irritable. You know what the worst part is? That everyone tells me those are symptoms that causes sleeping disorder. According to a friend, when your cycle of sleep gets disturbed (can be due to various issues) you tend to feel so lethargic the next morning, some people even get migraine and stuff like that. Every morning though I have an alarm to wake me up before 8am, but I feel like just crawling back into bed and rest for a while more, hoping that I can sleep away the horrible feeling when I awake.

Then I spoke to S, my so-called nutritionist and health therapist, she asked me to Google on Sleep Disorder and check out the wikipedia page (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sleep_disorder) teeth grinding is even on of the category of sleep disorder! =.=”

Some sleep disorders are serious enough to interfere with normal physical, mental and emotional functioning. A test commonly ordered for some sleep disorders is the polysomnography. Disruptions in sleep can be caused by a variety of issues, from teeth grinding (bruxism) to night terrors.”



DENG! I’m a Bruxism (teeth grinder) and also Nocturia. I always thought that emptying the bladder during the night is a good thing, cos you eliminate toxins but little did I know that it actually disrupts your sleep cycle. Got such thing one meh? Isn’t sleep just sleep, as long as you get 8 hours of sleep at night, that’s all that matters ain’t it? But after some research it says otherwise, every time your cycle of sleep is broken, its like a running a race halfway and then getting disqualified and you have restart from the starting line. Sounds so frustrating.

So what can be done in order to avoid this? Any one have any recommendations? S just asks me to party hard and drink till I drop at least I don’t have to worry about waking up middle of the night cos its TKO – kidding.

Bruxism

At least I know what teeth grinding at night is called. I had this problem once but somehow it went away on its own but that was when I was a kid.

I hope that your teeth grinding is not loud and possibly find a way to stop it soon.

I have a friend who has Bruxism. At first I thought it was someone scratching the door or window until he woke up and the sound stopped.LOL

i think i have sleeping disorder recently eh..

wake up for the past few days so tired, yet sleep like a pig thru whole night. . .

see a doctor. he will give you sleeping pills. or something that can make you sleep. pee before u sleep. dun drink water b4 sleeping. no beer either. haha.

Drink a glass of hot milk then sure doze away ..... It always work for me.

alie: hehehe i got tons of sleeping pill at home but i try not to take.. my grandma got addicted to sleeping pill last time when she scouldnt sleep or take anymore sleeping pill she was practically crying

Need to lay down those work and relax a little by doing stuffs you like and enjoy doing.

Regardless of how tired I am, I spend at least 30min to do the stuffs I love doing, listening to soundtracks while surfing the web.

It helps to wind down and then sleep better. :D

Try to relax yourself more Jac and listen to soft music all time. Making yourself in happy mood (not excited =P) does help to enter sleep too =]
