The PUMA Social Club. =)

I was at Palate Palette the other day for the launch of the PUMA SOCIAL CLUB!!!

The night was awesome, they transformed the whole Palate Palette into a whole PUMA joint. There were plenty of booze, and then plenty of social games too - including foosball and table-tennis.... and that is not all - they had pretty awesome prizes too!!!

Met up with Julie - the perfect PUMA icon!

...and then who can miss out on taking a picture with the super famous Daphne?

Basically, there's like plenty of action, plenty of activities, and plenty of fun!!!

Some of the props for the games and photoshoot.

See how packed it was!!!

Sam and Bok - thrashing everyone at the foosball table!

Their opponents were overwhelmed!

The super long queue outside the place.... wow...

Oh.... I got some pictures of the Grand Winner in action too!

This guy here beat everyone at the table-tennis table....

...and continued on to win the final stage for the chance to have the shopping grab!!!

*woooots* congratulations!!!!!!!!!

Anyways.... if you wanna join the fun and know more- The PUMA Social Club Tour will make its way to Monkey Bar, Penang on 1 April 2011, and Roost Bistro, Johor Bahru on 8 April 2011, before making its way back to Kuala Lumpur for the grand finale, which will take place on 15 April 2011 at Black Box, Map @ Publika, Level G2-01, Block A5, Dutamas, 1 Jalan Dutamas 1, Off Jalan Duta, 50480 Kuala Lumpur. WeBuy Everything Lah :D

You have heard of GroupOn, Group buying, now we bring to you WeBUY. I recently came across www.webuy.com.my, as you all know, me and the bf are people who actively seek to look for new things to eat, sometimes there are just so many kinds of food and choice that we would like to try but a bit skeptical cos it may be new and it may be too costly, bear in mind that we eat out everyday (breakfast, lunch and even dinner). That is when I friend recommended me to try out WeBUY because they had a superbly cheap deal of RM 6 for a tapas deal worth RM 20.90.

RM 6 wei! That is way cheaper than my one McValue meal. And I can even order a cup of coffee and not stuff my face with Coke or gassy drinks. Mind me, I’m a coffee lover / addict whatever you call it *swoons*

For those of you whom may not be familiar with Group Buying, it actually originated in forums. So bangga, my Hong Kie friend actually told me the history behind it, so let me sound like a know-it-all for this part. What I was “storied” was that in Hong Kong, there is a group of parents whom are very active in forums and they always buy things together in group, as buying milk powder frequently is rather costly and they realized the power in buying in bulk and group negotiations. So what they would do, is they would gather a few parents whom are also keen to buy milk powder / baby napkins, etc in a bulk, and collect as many orders as they can to share and head over to the supplier and negotiate for a superbly cheap rate. That was how it originated, and slowly the model was copied and that’s how WeBUY surfaced. Rather than negotiating on your own, now the smart people like WeBUY will be negotiating on your behalf and giving you the best offers all in one site.

For WeBUY the feature deals will only have life span of up to 3 days, so if you miss out, there goes the offer ☹ some of the offers ranges from 50-90% discounts but do bear in mind, the deals are only “ON/Activated” if they meet the required amount of users needed for the deal. As I mentioned it is a group buy for a certain number of people – so if the required number of sale is not achieved, then the deal is “OFF”, there will definitely not be any charges.

The difference between WeBUY and other group buying sites is their selection process. Currently there are two distinctive groups of group buying sites.
1) One that focuses on nothing but prices, as long as the deal is cheap enough, they will feature it.
2) The other (which is WeBUY’s school of thought), goes through stringent selection process, by only exploring quality merchants then strike a good deal. So their main focus is consumers’ experience.

All in all, WeBUY believes strongly in good consumer experience in various kinds of food, spas, events, all at an affordable price. Which is why people like me – lets rephrase it, suckers like me :P will definitely we trying out new things. Like now I’m on a hunt down for a new facial place, so I can take the opportunity to try out all the facials places at areas that I would like and which suits me best, I can decide on subscribing long term with them lor. So dai right?

Another highlight would be the look and feel of the site, it is not as cluttered as the rest and has very easy to use functions. Not only that, the site also has a “suggest a business” feature. Where users can tell WeBUY the deals that they are interested in, and if there’s enough demand, WeBUY will strike a deal with the merchant and get the deal featured. That is good isn’t it? Like if you like a Louis Vuitton bag, and if over like 1,000 people were suggesting the same thing, they would definitely go and negotiate for a good offer for you. This is something to look forward to, as other Group buying sites only allow you to anticipate on what they can provide you. But this is different * yippeeee*

To stay in tune, click Like on WeBUY’s Facebook Fan Page now, so that you will be the first to find out about the deals and won’t lose out on all the attractive offers and deals.

Ganbateh!

Side note:
For this week, you will be able to purchase Kissaten deal at 50% discount – which means for RM 25, you will get RM 50 worth of food / drinks *evil laugh*

Then I was fiddling around the site as usual on the sneak preview. Kepoh ma rite? Then I saw this!! OM……… G!!!

There is a Gucci deal coming up lor, this is too much!! * rubs eyes multiple times* it is true wei! This is just too wonderful words just can’t describe how ecstatic I am! So what are you waiting for? Gucci deal coming soon wei!!! Click here now and get RM 5 credit free thanks to the super duper fabulous www.WeBUY.com.my so we can get your own Gucci now!!! - ONE step closer to my dream of a Louis Vuitton deal ain't it unbelievable???

Please also do not miss out on their ongoing deal, an Apple iPad for RM 0! How do you get an iPad for RM 0? Well, when the deal hits 1k, ONE lucky winner will walk away with an iPad. So hurry!!! Go get friends to come and register and buy so that it hits 1k faster. What a brilliant idea for WeBUY to allow their members to try out the entire registering and BUYing process for FREE, and what more, you get to stand a chance to win an iPad :D

The Vanilla Place, Empire Shopping Gallery.

This place is located at EMPIRE SHOPPING GALLERY. I had always wondered what was interesting in there, but somehow it never really impressed or attracted me enough to head over there - until I was introduced to this place....

It is called... The Vanilla Place.

As you get there - the first impression that you would get when you get here is this... WOWWW.... the array of cakes and macaroons are so colourful - it is going to be so expensive! But then after checking out further - I realized that the prices are really considerably cheap!!!

If you're into hummus... check out their assorted homemade bread with dips! I love hummus - and that dish... it was super awesome!!!

On to the main courses....

The Vanilla Place is quite famous for its spaghetti. I tried the Spaghetti carbonara. The portion is quite huge and I was actually struggling to finish it. Interestingly - this main course cost only RM14.80!

Then go try the RM 18.80 super bargain super awesome lamb rack!!! This one sounds a mouthful already. After that - also check out their Poached salmon fillet with saffron sauce! *wooots*

There are plenty of other awesome main courses as well, including the fisherman pie, the lamb kofta sandwich, the beef stew, a whole long list of other pastas (try the aglio olio!)...

I am always a sucker for good desserts - and I would say... this is a cool place for desserts too!!!

For RM 8.80 only - check out their awesome pavlova. =) Also try out the tiramisu!!!!!

If you stay in PJ and would like to experience some fusion and interesting cuisine, why not check out this place - on the same row as McDonald's and upstairs of 7-Eleven, called MOJO's UPSTAIRS.

The sign is pretty sharp - it's quite difficult to miss it.

This place gives a really homely feeling - with its display of some old traditional gadgets and so on. The atmosphere gives you an old nostalgic feeling - its as though you were back in the 1960s or 1970s.

Okay - how about showing you how the food is.... mmmm yummyyyyy....

The bruschetta.

The Garlic Bread.

The wild mushroom soup.

Linguini Duck Aglio Olio.

The classic chicken chop.

The homebaked chicken and mushroom pie.

The beef lasagne

Fish & Chips.

Mojo Pineapple Fried Rice.

Hawaiian Crispy Chicken Pizza.

Fettucine Carbonara.

Thai Seafood Tom Yum.

I think that is almost the entire menu already. WHY not go check it out now?
